Credit Suisse Group Disclosable Interests in Xstrata

Xstrata plc (Xstrata) announced today that it had been notified by Credit Suisse Group (CSG) that they had acquired an interest in 90,000,000 Xstrata Ordinary US$0.50 shares. This is the interest referred to in the announcement of 29 May 2003 arising from the pledge by Glencore of 90,000,000 shares in Xstrata as security for the arrangements in respect of Glencore's Capital Management Programme.
