Our performance this year
Xstrata employees 37,698 permanent employees and 22,323 (average for 2007) in South Africa, North and South America, Australia, the Carribean and Europe. In 2007, employee turnover rose to 7.4%, up from 5.2% in 2006. Turnover was particularly high in Australia and South Africa, where competition for skilled labour is very strong, although year-on-year retention in these regions improved compared to 2006.
